A day in pictures: August 6

Mommy wrapped a large towel around Arabella's head after bath time.

Belle's truly a big girl, and only wants to do big girl things 😊

She wants to be picked up. She wants to sit in your lap.

Don't put her down! Absolutely not!

She wants to see the world. She wants to interact. She wants to do it all.

Soon she'll be able to go outside. We'll take her on her first walk. She'll see the blue sky above her. She'll take her very first breath of fresh air. We'll be able to hang out in our own backyard, just before the start of the Fall season.

All three of us will turn over a new leaf 😉

Photo tip: Anyone can look intense when you have a bright light source coming from one side.

Doesn't it look like she's in an opera? She would make a great soprano (judging by the high-pitched noises we hear her make sometimes).

Arabella's cry is still a little raspy and quiet from her time on the ventilator, but it's slowly returning. We assure our audience that Belle will indeed sing again!

She's got a lot of energy when she's awake, but when she crashes it's lights out for this songstress.

The curtain is drawn.

Can we call this intermission? We can all break for snacks and refreshments.

We're back, and with a new outfit, too.

The nurses here in Pediatrics are absolutely in love with her. Arabella continues to make a name for herself wherever she goes. They rave over her wonderful behaviour and her sweet charm. They also 'ooh' and 'aah' over her wardrobe.

She gets so many compliments on her onesies and dresses.

We tell everyone that Arabella has been sponsored since day one 😄. We're very lucky to have received so many beautiful outfits from you guys. We've gotten so many nice things from so many amazing people.

She gets her vitals checked every so often.

Arabella doesn't require a heart-rate probe any longer (which was attached to her foot), so now she only has her oxygen and feeding tube attached to her.

We're down to only 2 things!

The meds and supplements have all dramatically decreased as well. Belle went from 15 different ones a month ago, to only about 4 or 5 currently, which she takes once or twice daily.

Post bath is the best time to snap a few pictures while Belle gets warm and dries off. She's always alert and awake after the bath.

There was lots of excitement tonight. By 9pm she was hungry for her bottle.

She took nearly 30mL from mom. That's a decent amount for Arabella, who is slowly working on her oral feeding.

Expired by 9:30pm. The bath and the bottle were the perfect combination for a one two knockout.

Ding ding ding! Down for the count, and out for the night.

Dad made her a little canopy just for fun.

In the middle of the night Arabella loves to change positions. When she gets fussy, sweaty or uncomfortable in one area, I move her and she immediately goes back to sleep. She obviously prefers the cooler side of the bed 😃

She's such a great girl. We've had another awesome day together.
