She slept mostly while we were with her, getting cranky for short moments and then immediately going back to sleep, while the other little ones around her were crying constantly.
It was just one of those days.
One certain baby boy refused to calm down and cried all day and into the evening. "What's wrong? We've literally tried everything", I heard the nurse saying.
It's hard not to feel bad for these guys. Each of them are going through something different. Most babies in the room are awaiting a procedure or operation, and once that's done (and they've recovered) they are sent home or back to their previous hospital.
Days ago it was almost empty. It felt like we had the entire room to ourselves, but new admissions can arrive at any time.
We're still waiting for Arabella's blood cultures to come back. The nurse thinks Bella might have caught a cold, but we'll let the tests tell us for sure.
Either way, it doesn't look like we're going anywhere for a while, and that's alright. Belle still needs a lot of support with her lungs. There are so many new challenges ahead of us, and many more things yet to be uncovered as we continue to march ahead.
