Belle Update: May 3

We gave Arabella a sponge bath this evening. She seemed to really enjoy it! We've done it a few times in the past, and we continue to get better at it. We're quicker and more efficient each time.

Don't forget to clean behind her ears!

I appreciate how much the nurses support and encourage parents to get involved. They always have our backs 😊

While we wiped down Arabella it was important to take a moment to massage her face, especially around her nose. Bella's face becomes very indented and swollen from the mask. She never really gets a break from it, so it's necessary to get the blood flowing in that area. The skin can even breakdown in some parts if it's not properly cared for.

Bath time is like a day at the spa for Belle. Warm water, delicate soap, and plenty of white towels. The only thing we're missing is a bit of eucalyptus oil...

We dried her off and immediately wrapped her in a fuzzy blanket that the nurse provided. It was perfect. So plush and white, it looked like she was wearing a luxurious fur coat.

She's a little fashionista.

After being bundled she was carefully placed into Kiera's arms. Bath time seemed to soothe and relax her so much that she lay comfortably still for nearly two hours.

We had a great day and evening together. She's so incredible. She amazes us everyday.
