It was a beautiful day. Warm, sunny, and comfortable.
It was also beautiful for the fact that Kiera was able to hold tiny Belle. It wasn't skin-to-skin since the RT (respiratory therapist) had some concerns about Belle's tube, so instead we did what's called 'kangaroo care'.
We'll take whatever we can get. We were so delighted just to have her so close to us.
The nurse bundled her up in a cloth, placed Belle in Kiera's arms and even managed to find her a pretty pink hat to keep her head warm.
She lay still practically the entire hour and a half. She's consistently calm and relaxed whenever she's close to us.
